The area is freely accessible, and visitors can bath in the lagoon surrounded by a fine sand beach (lagoon water warmed by the thermal power plant excess heat.)

The swimming area's surroundings are well kept and contribute to rest and well-being with flowers, shaded areas, grass lawns, a large picnic area, benches, a children's playground, a fishing lake and pedestrian paths along the Seugne River.

 

The open-air restaurant is open from May to September, easily recognized with big white reception tents.

The city's Sports Service puts numerous sports related activities in place every year, such as: A very young children "pitchoun'" pen, a dragon themed mini park for children from the age of 2 to 6, inflatable structures, tree climbing courses ("accrobranche"), a 105 meters zip-line, an archery range, canoes, kayaks, pedalos, optimists, sailboards, stand-up paddle and a climbing wall.

The Passeport Loisirs Forme is a card sold by the Tourist Information Centre and used by families to enjoy activities mentioned above at a flat rate. It also includes a number of coupons for other activities. Practical and economical, it is used by most.

Ideally located, the area is filled with life and very appreciated by tourists and local residents. Every year, "Jonzac Aventure" takes place at the Recreation Park. More than a thousand participants are present at this major event, along with associations and people involved with community life. (Every first Thursday of French summer holidays)

A skate park is also a freely accessible on site.

Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and vineyards, Jonzac is a busy historical and activities centre, with well-maintained historical buildings and streets, some of which can be traced back to the Romans, leisure activities (Les Antilles de Jonzac pool, Casino …), and regularly organised events and exhibits.

Jonzac is also an involved city of the Haute-Saintonge Community of Communes, the largest of France, taking up the entire south of the Charente-Maritime Department. Many more activities are available is close proximity to Jonzac, as it is at the very centre of this Haute-Saintonge region; Visits of Europe’s largest Estuary, hikes, discovery of Cognac’s history and production and many more!

The north of the Charente-Maritime Department is also a very beautiful region to discover. Hike along the beautiful islands of Oléron, Ré and Aix, ideal for long walks and bird-watching in the wilderness. Visit the beautiful and historic Port City of La Rochelle and its aquarium. Enjoy cruises up and down the Estuary and along the coasts of the Department, even around the infamous Fort Boyard.

Bref, cette année encore voici une programmation complète offrant un véritable voyage musical et qui séduira tous les amoureux de découvertes artistiques.
